$3B Bailout: The lead plaintiff, Cobell, said she is hopeful that the settlement can “help break the cycle of poverty that has held too many families in poverty for generations.”

Another Apology: Obama hailed the settlement of the case as an important step to reconcile with Indian tribes.

Fair Settlement: The settlement resolves a 13-year-old dispute in which Indian tribes claim they were swindled out of billions of dollars in oil, gas, grazing, timber and other royalties overseen by the Interior Department since 1887.

A Settlement Agreement has been announced between IIM beneficiaries and the Secretary of the Interior, the Assistant Secretary of the Interior-Indian Affairs, and the Secretary of the Treasury in a long-running class action lawsuit, Cobell v. Salazar. The lawsuit claims that the federal government mismanaged individual Indians' trust accounts. Under the terms of the Settlement, the federal government will create a $1.4 billion Accounting/Trust Administration Fund and a $2 billion Trust Land Consolidation Fund. The Settlement also creates an Indian Education Scholarship fund of up to $60 million to improve access to higher education for Indians.

what the heck did getting all the casinos settle? our government is seriously messed up.

How can this be an apology from America?

This land was theirs first anyways.

If someone raided the USA and used it like it was theirs anyways, wouldn't you be a little angry?
