I am not sure that is accurate given the fact that a lot of the rioters were women.

Of course they do...WHY do think THIS reporter didn't? WHERE is that indicated????

Obviously you don't think women should have equal rights. You think they should cower in fear. You think "they asked for it". You think that no women are raped in America??

W H Y ??????? Show some facts!!!! Some stats!!

It's not a problem necessarily associated with one group of peope. As quiet as it was kept there is substantial evidence that American solidiers raped German women during the final push to Berlin at the end of World War II. There are also reports that women in Okinawa were raped by U.S. Armed Forces personnel.

The United States Armed forces excuted 141 servicemen between 1942 and 1945. All the soldiers with the of one exception was convicted of murder or rape.

Soviet troops are also said to have raped women in formely Nazi held territory in Eastern Europe as they advanced toward Berlin while Allied Forces has knowledge of this and turned a blind eye.

Let's not forget that Ethnic Cleansing" include rape on a massive scale was praticed by Serbs against Bosnian Serbs and Croatians during the breakup of Yugoslavia during the mid 1990's.

So you think in Egypt oppression of women is bad but here you think it's good.....can you explain that?

Thank you CBS for respecting women and their rights to do what they want.

W H O thinks otherwise?????

Anderson Cooper was assaulted, Katy Couric was shoved....Christine Amanpoor(sp?) is just fine AND her reporting was superb. These are not inexperienced children....they know what they're getting into...it is their JOB....why can't you understand that?

Sad story regardless.
Oh so your cutoff number when dealing with an atrocity such as this is less than two dozen.

How compassionate of you!

No, I base that on her own statements to Charlie Rose, and her and others treatment on her previous visit. Whether it be a man or a women, CBS well knew the immediate danger she and her crew had previously been in. She pretty much stated if they think your a spy
for Israel - it's a death warrant.

Bob Woodruff was in the accompaniment the U.S. 4th Infantry Division. Woodruff was standing with his head above a hatch, filming. Poor judgment on his part. He was wearing body armor and a protective helmet at the time so they clearly had prepared him for being in that immediate area.

For CBS to put a reporter, any reporter, in that area, so soon, after clearly knowing they had become a target, I think was very irresponsible of the news agency. Once again - doesn't matter if it had been a woman or a man -

'Everywhere we went we were approached by people,’ she said at the time. ‘We were accused of being more than journalists, very frightening suggestions were being made. Suggestions that really could be very dangerous for us.
We were accused of being Israeli spies. We were accused of being agents. We were accused of everything." - Lara
Logan

Those type of accusations should never be second guessed
as to the danger of that, by any news agency. It's a misnomer that reporters make the final call.

Ah, so discrimination against women in the workforce is okay with you. Got it.

It's a horrible thing, and my thoughts go out to Lara Logan. She is a professional, and her dedication to her profession is beyond inspirational. I can't even imagine putting myself in that kind of situation so that everyone can benefit from getting the story.

But your comment is just wrong.

It happens in the USA. It happens during riots. There are confirmed cases of it happening during the Woodstock Concert of the 1990s (during the Red Hot Chili Peppers performance). I am pretty sure there are confirmed cases of it happening during the Katrina disaster, and many other times.

It's a horrible thing, but it's not just a Middle East thing.
