If you want to use student SAT scores as a justification for teacher pay then why do teacher unions fight pay rates based on productivity instead of tenure?

WI might end up paying more since the state has so many highly qualified teachers!

Less than 7% of Wisconsin students take the SAT. The ACT is much more popular, just like in most of the Midwest, with Wisconsin ranking 13th. Participation rate is 67% of students for the ACT.

I think the MPS system has less than 50% graduation rate.

FYI, taking, or not taking, the ACT test has nothing to do with HS graduation. Usually only the college bound students take this test as there is a hefty fee to take it!

Ranking #13 nationwide is still commendable! That means WI does better than 37 states!

Wouldn't you agree that HS graduation rates does have something to do with teacher ability/dedication/education/etc?
