No, it is not a joke. Do you believe that people in the United States are that morally corrupt?

i think the ones who loot and victimize people in times of tragedy would do it. like the other guy said above, they did. there were plenty of dead bodies floating around when katrina hit.

If you visit japans cityies and see jusy now claose they live together you start to find that its most because theyare so polite to each others. Its alos why when the head of Toyota appolgise during the recall epopel jst did not uderstands here. I am sure they were shocked at the reaction of congress by it's behaviour;whch was really directed to ther cutomers having this happen to them. We would never expect say Obama to d the same when the stimulus did not do what he promised.Different view entirely to life really.

Many of them are not American citizens. Desperate measures in desperate times. People come here illegally and can't get work. Crime seems to be the next logical step to survive.

im not sure what im reading here. are you justifying crime in a situation like katrina or the tsunami? not everyone turns to crime and none of them should. we certainly can not afford to excuse and tolerate it.

Stop being "silly". You seem to like that word. I never implied that I thought that crime was justified. Can we get this thread back on track?

you said desperate measures in desperate times. that sounded like you were justifying crimes as an act of desperation.
