The story reports around 10,000 dead, I'm sorry to say that number is nearly 17,000 now. What a tragedy.
Pray for these poor families folks if you do that, they can use that kind of help along with financial kinds IMO.

i was just thinking?? what about the fish off the coast of japan..??? if they are dousing the building with water wont a lot of that radioactive water go into the ocean?? and what about all that particulate radioactive material spewing from the plant..?? well if they glow we will know.!!! it's time to do the chernobyl thing and start to bury the dang plant before it's to late.!!!
If they bury that, doesn't it probably then leak into the ocean? I don't know about that.
I'm saying don't pull it out of the ground in the first place. If you don't dig it up and run it though a reactor you don't have to worry about it killing a bunch of people.
Now,they aren't saying that they've lost number 3 reactor. But that is what they aren't saying.
The problem now is how to contain this mess and keep it cool. the heat release will be causing trouble for hundreds of years if they simply buried it.
They need to start killing there workers to fix this mess. It is the price you have to pay for the arrogance of saying we can keep this stuff safe. You can't not 100%. Millions could end up dieing worst case from this so you don't be squeamish about a few workers that need to be put in harms way to make things safe for everyone else. Sometimes you have to die so that others can live.
However, NHK reported that lower levels of radiation — 0.0183 to 0.0011 millisieverts per hour — were found at most observation points. These were higher than normal but posed no immediate threat to health.
People in this country (and others) simply do not understand what is "safe" and what is not. The word "radiation" is suddenly perceived as "dangerous", when the fact is that (a) there is very little, if any, body of scientific knowledge on what the threshold between "safe" radiation and life-threatening (we know the extremes, but not the spectrum); and more importantly (b) the exposure to radiation reported in most of these places is 3-30x (the extreme measurement listed was 300x, and even that was a single measurement) what you normally are exposed to, which overall is very negligible. However, the savants at the media have no concept of this.
