the fact that this is the best the republicans have got to this point makes '12 look pretty good for the dems. debating birthers is like debating a homeless man at the bus stop. i mean, really, it is a lot like doing that.
trump is just trying to show that obama is not one of "us." whatever that means. that is the only point in supporting the birther stuff - a transparent strategy intended to show obama as some type of outsider.

I am not given to nor swayed by emotion or partisanship in such matters neither will I dismiss them on the same grounds and prefer to examine others conclusions myself, though I would prefer something more indepth from an agency with more resouces than I have access to.

What is more indepth than a state certified birth certificate that meets all U.S State Dept requirements??

i think the recent resurfacing of the long debunked kenyan birth certificates was a good example of birther evidence and how it perpetually gets re-introduced as "new"..
