B.c most schools have the patience to actually wait until a president has done something good for the country and finished their term or two , before naming their school after them.
The school administrators obviously voted for him, and like to force their political ideologies and racial importance on their youth, and this was reinforced to the parents when the school's name changed, so they transferred their kids to different schools instead of this bigoted learning environment.
Think it might be significant that Obama is the first black president of the US.
I certainly do; why do you think racists make so many comments about it?

Same people, same comments.
I'd think it has more to do with race than anything else.
YMMV
Sorry, another race card tossed into the trash can.
Maybe he had something to do with its closing because the kids were not learning enough about how to hate America like Barry, Michelle ( I am finally proud to be an American ) and Barrys momma (hated America with a passion and passed it on to her son).
Well, last time I looked at his skin color, it sure wasn't the color of fair weather cumulus clouds. Generally, the race that someone appears to be is the race most people will consider them.
The naming of schools and such after Obama is meant to be a symbol of and recognition of hope and dreams, and the inspiring fact that a Black man became President of the United States. I love how conservatives try to paint them as institutions of "assimilation and brainwashing"... when was the last time you saw a school named after General Lee actively promoting that the South should've won the Civil War?
Whether you want to recognize the fact or not, a lot of the right-wing's ad hominem attacks on Obama and the way they get all snarky and angry about things being named after him come from the fact that deep down inside, many tighty-righties are still teed off that a Black guy became the President, and even more so about things being named after him recognizing that fact.

^ This. When conservatives talk about how "anti-American" Obama is, it's code for "eek, the big bad black man is gonna annihilate us all!!!!!111one". It's all about race, whether the right-wing wants to admit it or not. Even when Obama has put forth ideas from the Republicans they still attack him as "anti-American"! That's proof positive that it's not about policies, it's about who he is racially (and culturally, too).
And for Pete's sake, have y'all right-wingers worn out the phrase "race card" yet? It's like listening to parrots! Every time a theory/point about racism is brought up, it's repeated like a broken record.

The closing of the school probably had nothing to do with Obama. Its renaming may have been done with the intent of increasing interest in the school in the community to get enrollment back up. (Note: this is not a discussion of Obama's performance as president, although it does highlight why schools should not be named after sitting presidents. For example, if McCain had won the election and the school was renamed after him, and the school closed, it would not be a judgment on his presidency, although some people would think it was.)
Many kids in schools named after someone don't know or care whom the school is named after.

Yeah, they just hate the thought of a mulatto destroying the country. They would much prefer a pedigree Caucasian to do it.

^This kind of garbage needs to stop. How about paying attention and not playing the race card every chance you get (even though there was no reason to here)? Definitely sounding like a broken record.
He has been in the White House 18 months, but President Obama already has seven U.S. schools named after him...Only one school is named after Bush, the George W. Bush Elementary School in Stockton, Calif.

Whether you agree with his policies or not, Obama made history the minute he won the election. Becoming the first US President of color is more than an achievement worthy of a few public schools named after you.
