Considering crimes (with a victim), violence, abortions, suicide, health & longevity, obesity, and infant mortality.
This is a quality of life "survey" with different parameters for what defines quality of life. I do not believe that income, economic development, and public transportation are what determines the quality of life.
I would make a nomination but have no idea at the moment. I just viewed "10 Questions for the Dalai Lama" and it got me to thinking.
Seems like everyone hates us but they sure are trying to get into the country to live.
If my paternal grandparents had not come here I would probably be leading tours of Copenhagen telling the tourists the stories of Hans Christian Andersen while crying over "The Ugly Duckling" and smoking huge amounts of pot.

It really isn't a matter of opinion. It's whatever country scores the highest on those parameters.
It could be the US, Iceland, Japan, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. It's probably a country you don't expect.
I got a feeling you're looking at one or two statistics and not the metrics called out in the original post.
Re-read those metrics: Obesity, I'll bet the US is in the top five. Abortion, probably also in the top five. Violence? I don't know but we're in top two or three for incarceration so we might have a high violence rate. Suicide, due to so much drug use and PTSD soldiers and people in prison, competitive lifestyle stress, the US might be in the top five there too.
I got a feeling the original poster has a zinger up his sleeve with this one.
If someone who lives in American doesn't think it is the best country in the world, then they should move to wherever they would be more happier. I do wish some of our taxes could be appropriated to relocate all the whiners.

In the developed countries at least, most people think that their country is best. When I lived in Switzerland most of the Swiss I knew thought that they had it best. Same is true of other western countries I have visited. In truth, there is no exact standard for what is "best". If you are happy where you are then that should be enough.
