Whoa be it for me to point out that the U.S. has been in armed conflict some 225 times since 1789 and has only declared a state of war 5 time and has only engaged in armed conflict on 8 occasions with the consent of the Congress.
Now, I think we should have just minded our own business, however, I do also agree with this man's reasoning now that we've stuck our noses in:
"The War Powers Resolution (http://topics.signonsandiego.com/topics/War_Powers_Resolution - broken link) provides the president with the authority to conduct limited operations absent a declaration of war or use of force resolution from Congress. The reason for this authority is simple. Imagine for a second that a president is confronted with a situation requiring limited military involvement but, rather than having the ability to act quickly, an open consultation process with Congress must first occur. Under that scenario, the element of surprise is lost while strategic intent and operational planning are broadcast worldwide, risking the mission at hand, combat resources and the lives of America's military men and women."
Obama Gets Conservative Republican's Support On Libya Action - WNYC (http://www.wnyc.org/npr_articles/2011/mar/28/obama-gets-conservative-republicans-support-on-libya-action/ - broken link)
As I said before, tell that to the 5000+ American families and over 80,000 families in Iraq! Ok so you are going say that congress gave the president permission to do so, did also give catre blanche to profit for it? President Obama can sleep well knowing that he saved thousands of lives
And enslaved millions of americans for decades if not a century.

But hey, that is reparations socialist style.

The War Powers Resolution that put constraints on the Executive in regards to military action is not "Constitutional law" if by that you mean "Constitutional" (defined in the Constitution), nor is military action initiated without consulting with Congress "breaking the law of the Constitution."
The resolution is intended to prevent the President from acting unilaterally, beyond a limited time period, even when Congress has not ordered him to stop and even though the President is acting for purposes traditionally regarded as appropriate.
In a great many instances over the past 200 years, Presidents have used military force without first obtaining specific and explicit legislative authorization.
Section 3 of the resolution requires the President to consult with Congress "in every possible instance" before introducing U.S. armed forces into actual or imminent hostilities. Over the years, both before and after the resolution was adopted, the executive branch has engaged in consultations with the Congress in a variety of circumstances involving the possible deployment of U.S. forces abroad. Consultations have taken place, whether or not called for by the resolution. Consultations are intended to keep Congress informed, to determine whether Congress approves of a particular action or policy, and, in the period immediately before an action, to give congressional leaders an opportunity to provide the President with their views. Consultations are not intended to enable Congress to review or approve the detailed plans of a military operation. The resolution requires consultation "in every possible instance" and thus recognizes that consultation may be impossible in particular cases. No President has challenged the merits of the statutory obligation to consult; the statute leaves to the President the discretion to decide whether consultation is possible and, if so, to determine the form and substance of the consultation according to the circumstances of each case.

Did Obama do that? Wow! The system was screwed up long before he got into office, Bush/cheney exploited it with a bogus war that pushed this country further into debt. President Obama is trying to correct the problem the way most businesses do by pouring money into the probelm until it rightens itself. Please look up socialist government, b/c this country has had some form of "socialist" programs for years. The Veteran Administration is one example. Those idoits in the teabagger movement started throwing the word around like they actually knew what that were talking about, meanwhile collecting medicare/medicare

Geeee...I am an idiot teabagger and collect nothing......
Why is it in this country that people that have want to keep those who do not from having the same thing? I have health insurance and I don't have a probelm with someone else having it either. Do you all realize that politicians work less time than students are in school and get paid well over 85,000 a year
No one has been able to explain why young men and women serve in the U.S. Military for 20 years, risking their lives protecting freedom, and only get 50% of their pay while politicians hold their political positions in the safe confines of the capital, protected by these same men and women, and receive full pay retirement after serving one term. It just does not make any sense.

It makes perfect sense - the politicians are ones setting the retirement pay scales. Of course they are going to watch out for themselves.
