There aren't nearly enough folks making $250K or more per year to put a dent in our deficit, or boost the stream of revenue into the US Treasury, and everybody except the Democrats has known that since the Great Depression.

If the 'soak the rich' playbook which Democrats have gone back to again & again since FDR was President really worked, CA, IL, NJ & NY would all be drowning in revenue instead of drowning in debt.

Unearened income was thoguht up as a way to give people help without the need to creat a governamnt breaucray that consumes funds by letting it be done by the IRS which exist.Has Op said the idea is crazy even seeing that many rich give themselves eliminating the same problem in funding.

I know some greedy baby boomers that might disagree, but I kind of thought the point was to do well and pass it on to your kids, and then to their kids, etc... every generation the family should get stronger.

Is that an outdated opinion? Am I the only one that thinks this way?
Not all of us think your highest calling in life should be to turn your kids into Paris Hilton. Not all of us believe that life should be all about chasing after every single dollar you can get your hands on no matter what. Not all of us think that the foundation of a civil society should be about rewarding people who do.

Why dont we just have a flat tax rate for everyone like 5 to 10 precent. The middle class does pay taxes or at least my Husband and I do.We must be doing something wrong.

Ummm... Rewarding positive behavior or life saving instincts is exatly how you got here.

Liberals are all about some Darwinism if you're talking about religion but if you get in to stupid people snuffing themselves out they're anti-Darwinism. And when they start to discuss any of that, switching from religion to civilization today, you can nearly see the switch flip from using their brain to using only their heart. The opposite seems to be true in reverse.
