You know what's obvious now. we all know Pakistan was implicit in this. How could they not know, really?

(stretching on)
We know The Head Guy for AQ was basically in a semi-prison complicit with Pakistan, a nuclear state, and they did not kill us all with their nuclear bombs.
(stretching off)
We are all safe now'ish.

YES! America is still a special place!
Oh yes. America is a "special" place. A place filled with especially dumb naiive citizens who are clueless to what the government did to them when the Patriot Act was passed after 9/11 which took away most of their civil liberties guaranteed them in the Constitution.

It is So SO special that it has the TSA t sticks their hands down Americans pants at airports whether they want them to or not. It is so wonderful and special!

It is so special that parents can't even send their kids to public schools without being subjected to toxic vaccinations unless they go to the pains to try to get an exemption.

It is so special that the government has access to copies of every email and search done on or sponsored by the big search engines.

It is so wonderful that the government can conduct and get away with illegal searches and seizures and imprisonments and now Obama can order assassinations. Isn't this special!

It is so great that the government gets away with STEALING from the middle class taxpayers and giving it to the BIG BANKSTERS and CORPORATISTS via INFLATION of food and gas prices.

Oh yes. America is special. It is ESPECIALLY CORRUPT and ABOUT TIME people WAKE UP to this fact!

I'll just say that conviction without intelligent action is hardly a thing to be proud of.

Osama bin Laden dead: Yes, SEALs were in on the raid, but aides hail Obama's office bravery

Quote:
According to another one of those White House briefings of reporters designed to suck up all available credit for good news, President Obama's homeland security advisor reveals that it was a really tense time in the air-conditioned White House as unidentified U.S. Navy SEALs closed in on the world's most wanted man after midnight a half a wohomeland security advisor john Brennan 5-2-11rld away.

"Minutes passed like days," says John Brennan, who bravely stood with press secretary Jay Carney before reporters and TV cameras today chronicling his boss' weekend heroics.

The heavily-armed commandos flying in a quartet of darkened Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters more than 100 miles into Pakistan were probably listening to their iPods and discussing the NFL draft.
Ouch! I guess even the press might be sickened by self congratulatory behavior going on in the WH. Yes, they were so, so brave.

They best be careful trying to capitalize politically here.

We all know obama is a rank opportunist who will stop at nothing to shine the light on himself.

You just know obama will try and milk this for all it's worth - that could backfire brilliantly if the public believes he's trying gain politically.

I don't think you've established that the purpose of the raid on the compound was to kill bin Laden from the start.

Bin Laden raid: U.S. had plan to take him alive. Hiding in plan sight? - Lynn Sweet

Quote:
"If we had the opportunity to take bin Laden alive, if he didn't present any threat, the individuals involved were able and prepared to do that." Brennan said.

"We had discussed that extensively in a number of meetings in the White House and with the president. The concern was that bin Laden would oppose any type of capture operation. Indeed, he did. There was a firefight. He therefore was killed in that firefight, and that's when the remains were removed. But we certainly were planning for the possibility, which we thought was going to be remote, given that he would he likely resist arrest but that we would be able to capture him."
There's quite a bit of difference between killing a guy in an active firefight and torturing a prisoner, even if that prisoner is a grade-A a**hole like KSM.

U.S. team's mission was to kill bin Laden, not capture | Reuters

Quote:
(Reuters) - The U.S. special forces team that hunted down Osama bin Laden was under orders to kill the al Qaeda mastermind, not capture him, a U.S. national security official told Reuters.

"This was a kill operation," the official said, making clear there was no desire to try to capture bin Laden alive in Pakistan.
Why in the world would they want him alive?

Hadn't seen that link yet. Interesting. Perhaps Brennan was trying to put some spin on it, or maybe this unnamed guy was. They took Saddam alive, though apparently he didn't try to put up a fight.
