I believe the Liberal Media and the Left owe not only Bush, but America and our military, an apology. Obama owes them an apology as well.

For 8 years, there was an relentless attack on Bush and the Right. "this war is lost" "the sure failed" Bush's policies are evil. Close Gitmo. Be nice to detainees. Read them thier rights.

Yet here we are today and Obama is being heralded as a hero for Bin Laden's death. Yet, so much of what he railed against, and what themedia and the left HATED Bush and others for, helped make what happened yesterday possible. Obama right after taking office, wanted to close Gitmo. He wanted to give terrorists civilian trials and a forum. The left wanted to court martial Navy SEALS who gave a captured man a black eye. But the other night, we went in to another country, unannounced and without permission. We KILLED a terrorist. Some of what led to this no doubt dated back several years, using much of what Obama and the left said they were strongly against. Secret prisons, Gitmo, enhanced interrogations, etc. The left and the media proudly touted the constant anti-war marches/protests. The constant uproar and uncivilized banter from anti-war anti-bush nut jobs. The name calling. The hatred. Leftists united from liberal citizens to big media to hollywood.

I give Obama credit for surprisingly going against some of his once strong beliefs. Carrying on many of Bush's National Security policies. I didnt want this to be politicized, but the left have given us no choice. Even before this announcement was made official, the left started with their expected bs.

So yes, an apology is owed to America and even Bush and our military for 8 years of hatred and hypocrisy. And some of you really should be ashamed of yourselves. So much of what you rallied against with such hate and vile, you some how now cheer.Roi

I'm not calling them anything. They are our wars and technically Obama's since he is now CiC.

But after so much of what was bashed, for many of those policies to continue and even help kill a big leader, an apology is due. Especially given how Obama is a "hero" now.

So, why did you drag Bush into this? I thought y'all hated any mention of Bush beginning with Obama taking the office (or was it winning the election... hard to figure out at times).

Bush's policies were for Iraq. Obama was bashed continuously for re-focusing on Afghanistan and into Pakistan. No?

Candidate Barack Obama declared in 2007 "If we have actionable intelligence about high-value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will," he was blasted by Republicans and the right-wing media. Now with Obama's campaign promise kept, THEY should apologize to him.

Quote:
LIMBAUGH: All right, so, we're going to attack Pakistan. Poor Musharraf's going to get it on both ends if Barack's elected. [Premiere Radio Networks, The Rush Limbaugh Show, 9/20/2007]
Hannity claimed Obama said "he would bomb an ally, General Musharraf in Pakistan," and suggested that Obama remarks "say that Barack Obama is not qualified to be president of the United States." [Fox News, Hannity & Colmes, 8/14/2007]

At the time:
Quote:
White House spokesman Tony Snow said Pakistan was working hard to fight al Qaeda and the Taliban, and Washington was doing what it could in support.

"At the same time, we recognize the sovereignty of the Pakistani government and realize that they're putting on a serious push ... They're taking the fight to al Qaeda," Snow said.
Right. bin Laden was right under their nose.

Don't hold your breath waiting for an "apology". Liberals don't have that word in their vocabulary.

Bush has not been president since Jan. 20, 2009 at 11:59 AM. Nothing that has happened since had anything to do with him, accoridng to all the RWNJs on this forum. Surely you remember how we weren't supposed to mention Bush's name in discussions about the economy?

He DID keep his campaign promise. I'll give him that.
