So eliminating tax breaks for big oil = tax increase to the GOP but eliminating tax breaks for medical expenses /= to tax increase to GOP?

Sounds like double talk to me.

Since I believe it was wrong to extend the tax break in the first place, I don't have a problem with getting rid of it.

Why exactly should an uninsured taxpayer subsidize tax breaks for someone else's elective abortion?

Why should uninsured taxpayers subsidize every other medical procedure but not an abortion? Abortion is a legal medical procedure that a doctor and a patient decide.

Why does the Republican House, who say that they are against the government meddling in the people's affairs, think they should regulate which particular legal medical procedure is tax-deductible and which is not -- and, on what basis?

So, you can't deduct an abortion from your taxes.
Yes that is a tax increase, for a select few that use taxpayer funds for their birth control.

Elective surgeries in most cases are not and should NOT be covered.
