I think we have to take in everything we hear with a grain of salt, does not matter who the messanger is. Sometimes it is the messanger we need to be concern about.
What is the main vehicle to convey messages from 'terrorists' to the US government and public? Wouldn't that be the CIA? Do you believe all that the CIA says?
Question........How is the CIA stopping the zillions of illegals who are coming into our country? How are they catching those law breakers already here? Until they do WE ARE SITTING DUCKS.........
Huh? It isn't here job. Try getting a little more education.
the CIA is not tasked to deal with illegal aliens. for that you will have to contact the FBI, border patrol, and ICE. also the CIA is forbidden from operating with in US borders.
if you want a government agency that is spying on US citizens in country, try the NSA. as for assassination, not allowed by executive order insofar as the leaders of countries go. the heads of terrorist organizations on the other hand are fair game. stop blaming the CIA for things they dont or cant do. there are enough alphabet soup agencies, both government sponsored, and not, that do the things the CIA gets blamed for. and for the record, one of my uncles was in the CIA.
as for trusting the CIA, i trust them far more than i trust congress or the president.
Are you sure their dedication is "to their country"?
The "hope of recognition" phrase is just too hilarious for a response.

Briefings and background notes are important parts of doing the mission, but they leave no permanent record. One can fight over what was said in a briefing, but the written word is in black and white. It is the WorldIntelligenceReview (WIRe) article, the serial flyer, the intelligence assessment, and the national intelligence estimate (NIE) that end up in the archives, and it is the paper product that gets held up at a congressional hearing or eviscerated on an editorial page.
And when I say forever, I mean forever. Relatively few people have read the now infamous NIE done in 2002 on Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction (WMD), but everyone knows what it says. And everyone years and years from now will know what it said, because it is viewed—rightly or wrongly—as fatally flawed and responsible for the second Iraq war. It will never go away, and it joins the pantheon of other real and imagined CIA failures. Every time we publish, we go “on the record” and the record is there forever, for the second guessers, the hindsight experts, and anyone with an agenda. Thus, our judgments need to be as precise as we can make them, supported by evidence and argument, and accurately reflect our level of confidence every time.
