has ever been re-elected with unemployment rates greater than 7%.

How do you think Obama will fare in 2012, given that every analyst agrees that unemployment will remain between 8.5 and 9.5%?

Do you think the the unemployed and those entering the job market will buy "hope" and "change" when they are unemployed, or will the rhetoric wear thin, as it did for Carter.

Jimmy Carter II. McCain was right.

Did they have the media in their back pocket, shielding, suppressing and ignoring story after story about this administration?

When Jimmy Carter was president, the option was a charismatic, articulate person who was already well liked. Today, our options include a hypocritical Mormon, a pretty loon, a whack job attorney and a person who tried to impeach a president for cheating even though he himself was guilty of cheating. The field for Republicans this time around is so weak, Donald Trump was being taken seriously for awhile.

Do you think the unemployed and those entering the job market will buy what the Republicans have to offer? It's very hard to buy something that does not exist.

I am guessing you are a very young person. Reagan was portrayed by the press as a menacing old fool who was pretty dumb.

Your view of the GOP candidates is not representative of the majority of voters.

I'm thinking a successful businessman, organizer, governor would be oodles better than the disaster that sits in the WH today. And then we have another successful, popular governor with a fabulous record of fiscal conservatism that turned a state around.

I like our chances.

Can't wait to see what the deficit/debt will be in a year and a half. Gas prices too.

You forgot the perpetually lying, promise breaking incumbent.

It's hard to tell, but it sounds like you want things to get worse for political gain.

Oh, I remember. In fact, I think the Reagan years is when people really started to believe in media bias. But as for the general public, Reagan was well liked. I know some very liberal people that voted for him twice.

I don't see the GOP finding this person this time around. I wouldn't rule it out, however.
