Wow, who'd have thought it....politicians have opinions. They may or may not be logical or accurate and they may even contradict opinions held by members of their own party.
I'll file this away for future reference (should I at some point actually start caring about the opinions of politicians). Thanks for sharing.

Pertaining to the letter, this doesn't scream straightforward to me:
