This free market system already works in NV. Why is it banned in all states but NV?
What do conservatives feel about the ban of free market sex trade?
Yes, it should be legal and regulated.
But don't kid yourself, women would be just as active in this business, as customers.
People should have the choice between legal regulated prostitutes and the unregulated ones they have now. Neither should be a crime if both consent to the fornication. Let God punish their sins.
I'd say no. Seems like a retrograde for society to one day consider it normal, and we would be going back to a more animalistic state (someone chime in and say how we are animals). The amount of cheating spouses would go through the roof, falling apart of more marriages/relationships, yielding more kids with single parents. I just don't see it as a smart step for mankind, just an easy step for those looking for short term thrills.
Odd attitude. I have watched several documentaries on prostitution, that is a rather sad and often filthy world. I don't want that world to be considered normal.
Would make more sense to raise kids in such a way that they find permanent spouses later on and manage to stay happy with them.
I am a liberal, but I am old-fashioned when it comes to that. In my view it is wrong to separate sexuality from love and permanent relationships and treat it like any old service such as going to the hairdresser's.
I couldn't agree more. I'm a liberal, too, and there was no place on the poll for people like us to vote.

If you really feel that way, maybe you have the wrong wife.

Actually it would lower the divorce rate because it would mean fewer broken marriages, with less need to go screw someone else's wife.
I think this is why most women would be against the idea. It takes away their power to be the judge of which men are worthy or not of having sex.
I would actually prefer the days where things fell into place and just about everyone married young. But we are far from those days and sadly could be beyond the point of no return. Female hypergamy has been a huge trend in recent decades. With marriage reduced to a subculture we have a situation where some men have sex with hundreds of different partners for years on end while other men have no women interested in them. We have an unhealthy quasi-polygamous culture. Legalized prostitution would eaze the situation.
If an adult wants to pay for sex with another consenting adult, and if they're that desperate (or that stupid) that they have to pay for it, then so be it! As another poster said, let God be the judge!
I think it should be legal and regulated -- pimps should remain illegal even if prostitution becomes legal. Also, public soliciting should remain illegal.
