They will go shoeless before admitting the crimes of their dear leader.

So Obama has to formally request Congress for approval to continue in Libya and he has not done it yet. Article also says this was done in the past by Reagan and Clinton.
So those declaring the President is breaking the law..he's doing it with collusion of Congress who is also not saying anything.

Obama likely to miss deadline for congressional approval of Libya operations - The Washington Post
President Obama appears likely to miss a legal deadline Friday — set under the terms of a 1973 law — that requires him to obtain congressional approval for U.S. military operations in Libya.
..
As of Thursday, however, the White House had still not formally requested that approval.
Congressional leaders, for their part, said very little about the deadline being missed. That might indicate they are willing to let the White House ignore a law that has been derided by some as unconstitutional."

when ya gonna declare war obama, or are you going to engage in an 'illegal war' like the liberals accused bush of?
The thread is about the War Powers Act. Perhaps, the SC will eventually decide whether it is a Constitutional Law or not.

This war in Libya was such a bad idea from the start, no clear mission, no clear goals, and now 0bama can't even be bothered to speak of it, and wishes it would go away.

Well Mr. President, Libya is not going away, so what the hell is your foreign policy with regards to Libya????

Isn't that one worse than what you claim Bush did ?
He has, but for posters to start complaining now, and berated others for complaining during the Bush administration as "unamerican" should be called on it.

Immediately after I discovered that my President lied to me about weapons of mass destruction, I was screaming we should get out of Iraq and impeach the idiot we had in office before now.

But to start complaining about paying for military operations is a bit late. The government has been doing this since Truman was in office. Our grand parents and parents gave the President to much power, and now you can't get it back without major laws, that won't be passed.

You know why they won't be passed? Because when Republicans win the white house, they want to be able to do it all again.

Its hypocritical.

If you read an earlier post, I said I want congress to have to declare war for anything we do militarily outside of our country.

If he says nothing and Congress says nothing and let's this continue as is..then what ? Who is going to speak up ?

Congress won't take this up until the President requests it and he has not requested this and Congress is doing nothing.

Oh, but don't you know, this administration had redefined
the rules

“Well, we would welcome congressional support,” the Secretary said, “but I don’t think that this kind of internationally authorized intervention where we are one of a number of countries participating to enforce a humanitarian mission is the kind of unilateral action that either I or President Obama was speaking of several years ago.” - Hillary Clinton

Libya is a humanitarian effort, it's not war - don't
you know

Oh geeze Polly...they relabeled it.
Combat troops in Iraq are "peace keeping"
The war in Libya is now a "humanitarian effort".

The Truman administration redefined the rule. So did the Reagan, Clinton, and both Bush administrations

Complaining about it now is partisan.
