Egypt has overthrown its dictator (for three decades) and is preparing for the first free elections in 60 years. This means a lot of new political parties are being formed to back candidates for parliament and president. One group has formed a National Socialist (or Nazi) party, to elect a leader who will rule like a dictator.

Leadership: Nazis Make A Comeback In Egypt

You know America has people in the Communist Party run for congress and the Presidency...so does that mean "Communists are making a comeback in the United States"?

Director, you are trying to reason with the irrational. It won't work.

Count me as the third liberal and I have read the article an article which like other such articles is filled with nothing but false supposition, and fear mongering.

From the article:

"One group has formed a National Socialist (or Nazi) party, to elect a leader who will rule like a dictator."

As pointed out above, numerous ultra right and ultra left parties run for office in the U.S. In the U.S. David Duke an avowed Nazi ran and won a seat in the Louisiana state legislature. Does this mean that there is a real possibility of the Nazi Party gaining any significant control of even a state government? Does the article even venture to address what support exists for such an Egyptian nazi party? No it doesn't even pretend to.

"In fact, during World War II, the Nazis were very popular in the Arab world. The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem (the highest Islamic official in the area) spent the war in Berlin (to avoid arrest by the British)."

Yes Amin al-Husayni the grand Mufti of Jerusalem was a virulent anti-Semite and sided with the Nazi Germany mainly because most of the middle east was still under British control just like his Irish counterpart Eamon de Valera allowed misguided nationalist desires blind them to the offal of fascism.

What the article doesn't point out are the number of Muslim soldiers from the middle east, and north Africa who fought valiantly against the Nazi's and their allies.

"In occupied Albania, during World War II, local Moslems were recruited into SS divisions, whose task was to hunt down and kill Christian guerillas."

That cuts a couple of ways doesn't it. Is it any less valid to point out the Christian Hungarians, Poles, and Czechs who were some of the most ardent Nazis who eagerly participated in the Holocaust?

I read the crap article.

It says many political groups are being formed...one of which is a nationalist socialist party...then proceeds to jump to the conclusion that the Nazi's are taking over Egypt.

What happened to the Scaaarrrryyy "Muslim Brotherhood"?

Whats next the "Legion of Doom"?

What confuses me is why people try and paint the democratic overthrow of a 30 year despot as a BAD thing...is it ONLY because Obama supported it? That's truly pathetic.
