Uh why are there armed soldiers in NYC? Martial law much?

e: those anti-photography "laws" are the dumbest things ever. I've heard of people around here getting arrested for taking photos of buildings that are apparently used by intelligence agencies/contractors (they're unmarked and the photographers have no idea what they are). ****ing idiotic.
