Grassley vows to block nominees until he gets answers on gun sales - TheHill.com

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is vowing to block President Obama’s nominations until he gets detailed answers on a controversial program that resulted in drug cartels acquiring more than 1,300 firearms from the U.S.

Cheers to Grassley. And cheers to Darrell Issa.

It's about time the Obama administration be held accountable for some of it's criminal deeds.

How filthy can it get when weapons are intentionally supplied to the Mexican cartels.

The corrupt Obama administration needs to be blocked.

How many people did the Obama weapons to the cartels kill?

This project was originally started under Bush. If you have a problem w/ it, it starts there. Also a quick tidbit of the project along w/ Project Fast and Furious, Too Hot to Handle, and Wide Reciever:

Along with a number of Caribbean police forces, many countries are formally provided with eTrace software with access to American gun owner names, addresses and personal information
Patriot Act, domestic spying, tagging and sharing of information on gun owners. Thank you republicans and former President-Corrupt 43.

And continued by Obama for these past 2.5 years.
See..both sides are just as guilty. Fingerpointing 2.5 years into this administration for something that happened DURING this administration is nothing more than deflection.

For those who are attempting to portray this program as starting and being part of a systematic attempt by this administration on gun rights and this program specifically is QUITE SIMPLY THE POINT.

Any attempt to brush that fact off is more than deflection, it's obfuscation and out right demagoguery.

Both sides are guilty indeed, but as we all know, once the gov't. seizes powers and "abilities" they don't give them back. Something that is too plainly obvious now, that was started back in 2005. If the blame starts anywhere, it starts there. And I'm sure Sen.'s Grassley and Issa would love for you to know their stances on the projects at that time as well.

Ok, I do see your argument now..post #2 talks only of the Obama administration and I can see how you needed to clarify that it started under Bush.

Both sides are rotten to the core and, as such, let each other get away with things.

Then why didn't Obama end it? He's had time by now after all.

So is your only defense of Obama is that Bush did it also?

And maybe you should ask why the death rates in Mexico have soared while Obama is president, much higher than they were when Bush was president.

From what I remember about that gun deal is that it was an undercover (snafu).

He should definitely press the administration for that.

Seems to me that there are a lot of backdoor deals going on in the interest of "national security" that have come back to bite us.

It has nothing to do with the US administration, current or past.
The drug wars are escalating as the cartels are fighting among each other to take top place. That's just evolution and culling. Happened with the mafia families and the Columbians in south Florida.

There's even greed among thieves because they don't want to share; they want it all.

When you think about the war on drugs/cartels... etc..

The choice is to get "in bed" with these buggers instead of crushing them.

Is it really a secret if it's known who they are?

Why feed the beast? Why not cut off the head?

These buggers operate outside of the law, why do we have to play the game?
