anyone looking for a job? looks like michelle is needing new people pretty regularly..

Quote:
Less than three years into the job, first lady Michelle Obama is on her third chief of staff and third social secretary. She is on her second communications director, the White House chief usher recently departed, and her press secretary’s last day is Friday.

On Friday afternoon, the first lady’s office announced that the executive director of Obama’s signature campaign to fight childhood obesity also is leaving.
...

“The first lady is a lovely woman, but she’s tough as nails, and that can be hard for some people,” said a source familiar with the office. “She has really high expectations.”

She is probabaly getting rid of anyone that has the potential to write a book that trashes her. You can't accumulate much material if you aren't there long enough.

First Lady Laura Bush saw a similar churn on her staff — after six years. By 2007, Bush was on her third press secretary, third social secretary and and second chief of staff. Former first lady Hillary Clinton had comparatively low turnover during her days in the White House, employing just two chiefs of staff in eight years

hmm, didn't think of that. although it seems that they're leaving at their own accord, from what the article says.
maybe she's difficult to work with.

They will write those even if they only know someone that knew someone that worked for the First Lady. You didn't think it had to be true did you?

I think she states that it's a pretty tough job that requires a lot of people. She's probably a perfectionist. And, anyway, she is a lawyer and I've *NEVER* met one that's easy to work for.

Those kinds of jobs naturally have a high turn over because they are so demanding. Anita McBride, Laura Bush’s chief of staff, said in the OP article that she would come to her first meeting of the day at 7 a.m. and still be there at 10 p.m. to turn the lights off. And another staffer for Laura, her press secretary, said this:
Quote:
...“The first lady’s staff of roughly 25 is responsible for coordinating all her travel, as well as for executing hundreds of flawless White House events annually. It is perfectly natural that after a year or two of service, many staffers choose to pursue another opportunity in government, or a position with a better work-life balance.”

i can definitely see how that could be the case. i feel sorry for first ladies; with the exception of hillary clinton, i can't think of any that really seemed to want to be in that position.

Similar? You'll spin anything to try and paint them in a positive light, won't you? Obama has gone through people twice as fast so far, that's hardly "similar". The turnover rate Laura Bush had was much closer to the "comparatively low" rate of Hillary than Michelle.
