I'm the last person who you'd associate with healthy eating, or health in general. I eat a lot, I eat unhealthy foods, I don't really exercise, I love getting drunk and I smoke.

But I don't have a problem with Michelle Obama's efforts to have a healthier nation. People ***** about her wanting school lunches to be healthier... really????? What on earth is the problem with kids eating healthy at school? What is wrong with teaching people about how to make healthy choices? I do take issue with restricting adults from making choices, but I haven't seen any of that from Michelle.

So, I ask of those of you who think Michelle Obama is a granola-eating monster, what's your problem with her initiative? It seriously comes off as "how dare she try and help our nation's children be healthy," which is lunacy to me. I wish I had had healthfulness instilled in me when I was young.

Firstly: Mrs Obama isn't anyone elses Mother .. so her deciding what other kids eat is way out of bounds

Secondly: Mrs Obama could take a lesson or two from her own tripe, in that she could stand to lose a few pounds herself

I have no problem if she wants to educate on healthy eating, just don't enact mandates.
Educate and then hope people make the right choices.

Don't go to lengths to have schools start banning cake sales to champion your idea.
Once she's no longer first lady she'll more than likely drop it altogether.

That's why I don't care so much if she educates. She wasn't involved in this before becoming first lady and she'll drop it once she's no longer first lady.

I have more respect and admiration for Laura Bush who was into reading/literacy before, during and after her husband's Presidency.

Self defeating concept.

With all the green veggies and fiber these kids are going to be eating the global warming issue is going to grow exponentially.

Plus gas everyone in the classroom.

some conservatives will attack democrats for anything.

as we saw in the health care debate, when republicans attacked their own ideas once democrats agreed with them.

I have no problem with Michelle Obammers wanting kids to eat healthy. Just don't mandate what my kid has to eat at school. Keep your nasty Sasquatch hands out of my kid lunch. If she wants to start a PSA campaign with her own money go ahead. I think most people understand rabbit food is better for you than twinkies. I don't need some liberal socialist pinko to tell me that.

First they advised schools to provide my child with healthier meals, next they put me in death camps.

It's just the natural progression.
