I identify myself as a Libertarian because I believe that there is a continuous battle in our society, and in any society to protect the freedom of individuals. I believe that people are more prosperous and happier when they're free to choose how to live their own lives. I also believe wholeheartedly that individuals are capable of great creativity, ingenuity, and compassion when left to their own devices. I believe that the proper role of government is to facilitate free trade and to protect individuals from violent acts against them.

Are you saying that le roi is a liberal, or that the political study had a liberal agenda? Please explain why.

I fear that the post-moderns are ripe for recruiting by libertarians. I hope that before that happens, they wake up and see that economic justice is as important as ever. In fact, inequality is increasing by the minute.

I hate labels this gets people in trouble. Do people need a lablel or category to feel of some importance. Where we are headed as far as a Country, i truly feel we are beyond RED VS. BLUE.

I recently read a Pew Research survey (13 pages long), which categorizes American political groups. I will explain them briefly.. and you can vote, which are you?

This is one of the more interesting things I've read in years, and it tells you an awful lot about your fellow P&OC posters.

Staunch conservative (GOP)
Main Street conservative (GOP)

--

Libertarians
Disaffecteds
Post Moderns
Bystanders

--

New Coalition Democrats (D)
Hard-Pressed Democrats (D)
Solid Liberals (D)

----------------

Of the GOP voters, Staunch Republicans are the most socially conservative. They are notably white, supportive of Wall Street, active in politics, nationalist, and least likely to compromise. They dislike the Democratic party more than any other group dislikes any other party. They overwhelmingly support war, and think that Islam is inherently violent. They are anti-regulation, anti-tax, anti-government, and anti-environment. They are the most likely to get their news from Fox News, Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh. They are the group that is least worried about the unemployment rate.
Lovely post. When do you tell us the definitions of the other groups you listed? I thought you said you would be doing that for every group and you stopped with the two that are considered Republicans by Pew. When can I expect the rest of what you promised?
