There have been two scandals lately, one involving Ex-Governor Schwartzenegger and another one involving Congressman Weiner. Which one did more harm to their family and friends?
I think Arnold's transgression was a little bit worse than Weiner's...
Agreed, but Weiner had everyone 'believing' that his accounts were hacked. And, that fact has implications that classified government information under his other federal accounts could have been possibly compromised.
Schwartzenegger got my vote. His scandal hurt his children badly. It will effect the rest of their lives. And he kept his lie going for a decade, all the while having the mother of his illegitimate kid working right under the nose of his wife.
I am tired of these so-called scandals. Personally I think it is none of our business. Who cares if a married person has an affair? Only their immediate family should be concerned. Throughout history great men and great women had dalliances outside their marriages. I'm not saying their spouse does not have a right to be outraged ... don't get me wrong! ... but these indiscretions do not affect me.
Some politicians, like the so-called conservative anti-gay moralists who are caught having gay sex, are subject to ridicule because of their extreme hypocrisy.
The issue whether or not an elected official adheres to marital fidelity is something that does not concern me.
Arnold was the bigger dirty dog and his actions probably hurt those closest to him more then Wiener did, but that's between the men and their spouses.
Weiner stood up & looked everyone - me, you, dear reader, everyone - in the eye and flat out lied for a week. And it was a stupid lie because he knew he was busted. So to me that is the bigger collective harm.
