'NATO has been dropping devastating bunker-busting bombs on Muammar Gaddafi’s home in an attempt to assassinate him. One son and several grandchildren have died but Gaddafi has survived. The State Department cables give background to the hostility directed against Gaddafi by the United States and other NATO powers.

One State Department cable from November 2007 (Wikileaks reference ID 07TRIPOLI967) sounds the alarm of “growing evidence of Libyan resource nationalism” by the Gaddafi government.

This was almost identical language employed by the U.S. and British governments against Iranian Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh when he nationalized Iran’s oil field in 1951. Mossadegh was overthrown by a 1953 CIA coup that restored the Shah to the throne. It allowed U.S. and British oil companies to re-take ownership over Iran’s oil until the 1979 revolution.'

Why the NATO powers are trying to assassinate Moammar Gaddafi

Why is our foreign policy always about 'liberating' the people by killing them? You would think that our 'change' president Obama would be a wee bit more enlightened - apparently not. All of the 'tears of joy' that were cried when he was elected, are now being cried for a different reason.

That's the typical Republican view, which is nothing to be proud of.

Momar was preparing to introduce the African Dinar across the region and trade oil in that currency and not US dollars. Same reason we went into Iraq as sadaam was preparing to trade oil for euros. Now we're also in Afghan and will be forever until we mine all the REM outta the ground so folks can have their car batteries and ipods and the like.

Republicans are just afraid that Obama is going to kill Gaddafi and get credit for it.

Libia happens to be conveniently located on the Mediterranean. Do you have any idea how many ships we have coincidentally passing by Libia in a given month. Bombing that dirt-bag is hardly an inconvenience. That's what he gets for that Lockerbie stunt. F*#k Gaddafi.
