what you're missing is that there are several posters that are making comments about the guy not knowing any english without actually watching the video. he knows it, he just doesn't feel it's up to the level of testifying in front of senators.

But the good news is, if you're going to be homeless, Florida is a much better place than say, Wisconsin.

No ... what you are missing is ... 1) nobody should be petitioning the State to make it easier for illegals to invade our State ... 2) It's all the more insulting that he does so in the language of those invaders, instead of the invaded.

Get it?

Default Maybe no hate,

However, from all of the bad grammar and non puctuation and
misuse of words I would doubt the accuracy of your statements and
wonder after the use of bad such poor english why you are worried
anyway. There is an undercurrent of another purpose here... I mean really bad
written english for such a short post.

Default Language of Jesus,

I know that Christ didn't speak english of course. This was a quote from the irrepressible Ann Richardson former Governor of Texas, when asked by Larry King whether or not english should be the official language of Texas.
It was on the Larry King Show just prior to her death, " If english was good enough for Jesus Christ ,it is good enough for me." she said with a smile.
In other words there is nothing Holy about it.

To re-cap; what's at issue is the guy has demonstrated on many occasions, in his capacity as a professional and official spokesman for illegal's rights, that he is more than capable to make his point to the Texas Legislature in English.

He chose not to, with the ambiguous claim of personal comfort while his real intention was to "middle finger salute" the sitting house.

Anyone doubting that, simply isn't connecting the dots of all of his previous activites on behalf of the illegals, and pandering to their sentiments as a grandstand play in front of them once again, while addressing the house.

He was making a point and the senator from Texas was quite correct to feel insulted, that indeed, was the intent of the whole fiasco. I'm frankly, more than a little surprised he didn't wear a Mexican flag draped over his shoulder serape style while performing this little charade. He probably just didn't think of it at the time.

He could just as easily have made his opening remarks and explained that he would speak in BOTH languages in turn and stated his reasons for doing so as HIS BELIEFS and gotten the respect of both the house and the gallery! An opportunity now lost.

He may have a point, but the irony of it is he lives in Texas. Whether he realize it or not, he is speaking a little bit of spanish everytime he utters out the names of the cities in Texas. Its hard to be against the spanish language being spoken in America when about 7 or 8 of our states have spanish names. We have a state called New Mexico for goodness sake.
