Islam was "invented" by the false prophet, Mohammed. Islamists have attacked Crhistians and Jews from the beginning. Islamist hordes slaughered millions of Christians as they sought to Islamicize the Western World. It was the reason for the Crusades, as Christians finally took a stand and began to fight back.
Yes. I respect any faith. But the moment that person of that religion attacks me for my beliefs, . I have an issue with that.
I'm not religious at all or have a certain faith but still.
Most Muslim Americans support traditional marriage.
Divorce is rare among Muslim Americans.
Most Muslim Americans have a higher income than non Muslim Americans.
So yes, you can be conservative and support/be a Muslim. The same goes for Arab Americans, most of which are Christians. Most Arab American Muslims and Christians voted republican before the 2nd Bush term. He won the Arab and Muslim vote the first time around. Most Arab American politicians and congressmen are republicans. Its the party that turned on Arabs and Muslims, not the other way around. To the point where bashing Arabs, especially Palestinians, is seen as a way to get the far right wing vote and is also a sad attempt to get a few Jewish American votes and money.
I believe all religions can be (and are) taken to repugnant extremes. This is because the adherents are humans, who are imperfect and largely irrational beings. Religion, like whiskey, is probably best taken in moderation. I say this as an agnostic Buddhist who often falls short in following the noble eightfold path.
