Why should a person respect Islam if it is not their religion?
As to respecting Muslims, what does that even mean?
So you don't respect religions that you don't believe in? I am not a religious person, but I respect other religions and those who have faith in them because I have seen how it can be a positive force.
Islam is not only a faith but a political movement. The two cannot be divorced from one another as easily as the OP seems to think by the suppositions in the OP and poll.
I respect the 1st Amendment affirmed right of freedom of religion. I do not have to respect any particular religious group or cult that practices that freedom nor its claimed affiliation with any specific religion, denomination, or cult. Groups do not earn my respect individuals do.
Can one be a Conservative White Christian and still respect Muslims and Islam as a faith?
as with any religion, as long as the true tenants of the religion are followed, then i can respect the followers of any religion, well except satanism. but when those few the claim to adhere to certain religious beliefs are shown to being using them for their own ends, then i cannot respect those people. too many people use religion to further their lifes goals.
