Some do not understand the difference the difference between no government and a government that respects property rights. Until more people do, we will continue to stagnate as a nation and be servants to the tyrants.
The only thing I have ever seen where libertarians themselves point to Somalia as an example of libertarianism is the telecommunications market in northern Somalia. Northern Somalia is much more stable and much less violent than southern Somalia, which is the Black Hawk Down, tribal warlord dominated, terrorist hotbed, pirates' cove Somalia we all know and love.
Most Americans are a little....geographically/globally challenged...to think some might know the difference between Southern and Northern Somalia is pushing it...
Most wouldn't know where Somalia even is....
