Interesting maps. The areas with the least amount of education and lowest life expectancies also have a very high concentration of illegal Mexicans and African Americans. Are you trying to say that all Mexicans and blacks are dumb and on welfare?

Life expectancy wise....I'm gonna have to go with climate on this one.

And most of those lower education areas are impoverished regions on the delta & in the mountains. Of course there will be less education there, you have to survive first.

These "statistics" are meaningless. The population makeup varies extremely widely from each state and county. The NE is more than 90% white, the ethnic group that has among highest incomes after Asians, thus lowering poverty rates.

Meanwhile, the Southern states and states along the Mexico border are made up with more minorities. For some reason, minorities are more likely to be without an education, thus causing lower employment levels and more poverty.

All the other European countries people on here love to compare us to are smaller in population and mostly made up of the same population segment (same racial group, same income level, etc.)

Your first two maps are not corresponding.... Look closely at the counties, particularily in southern Texas, South Georgia, and the midwest.

And as to food stamps, thanks to Barack 'The Food Stamp President' Obama there are more food stamp recipients in every county.
