Wait a minute there are those in the service that were called up, that had civilian jobs and in most cases those jobs are waiting for them when they get back, provided that they don't come back in a body bag.

only those that were reservists and national guard...not the regular active military.......

Even if we removed the excess soldiers from the military and still paid their military wages we would still be ahead of the game because we would not have to pay the greedy corporations that make outrageous sums of money in support of those soldiers.
I'm not sure but aren't half the people over there in the Middle East civilian workers supporting the military in their conquests. These civilian workers are making 3 or 4 times the salary that they would make back home so we would still be able to pay them a normal salary and save 2/3 what they were making from our tax dollar.

Lets face it, if there was not a lot of money to be made fighting wars we would not have them.
And that money that is being made comes from our taxes.
Instead of making up lies to go to war, we would be avoiding them at all cost, only going to war as a last resort.

Agreed, BUT the poblem is the Repubs are not showing much in the way of being open to discussion on much, politics is give and take business and until both sides can stop with the game playing I see little of real substance being accomplished.

Well that's surprising. So, for the record, you are for the expansion of the public sector in order to reduce unemployment using tax dollars?

I seem to have missed where Obama indicated we need to "defeat" the Taliban. I don't recall even GW saying that, but hey, show us the light.
