It really is too bad that nobodies are given such a prominent platform in this country. Think about it.....she's the WIFE of a President. Do we really care what she says? I sure don't. Just like I don't care what the wife of my Senator says....or the wife of my Mayor. The First Lady is a nobody, but she's right, the media love a Liberal...especially a black liberal with a title.

What are you talking about? Bush got a free pass from the media. If you don't believe me, perhaps you might remember that his tax-cut proposals were never challenged in the media, even though the economics behind them was highly suspect.

His assertions to the run-up to the Iraq war were never challenged in the media either. The press acted like cheerleaders.

Did you read the article? This article, Michelle's statement, has nothing to do with the President and how the media treats him. It has to do with her kids and how the media has not attacked or harrassed them. From the article:

First Lady Michelle Obama: "You know, it's … we're ready, you know. Our children, you know, could care less about what we're doing. We work hard to do that. Fortunately, we have help from the media. I have to say this: I'm very grateful for the support and kindness that we've gotten. People have respected their privacy and in that way, I think, you know, no matter what people may feel about my husband's policies or what have you, they care about children and that's been good to see."

So how about, on this board, we stop SPINNING soundbites to make things look extremely biased to feel better about things so this can actually be a decent controversy forum? I think the media was pretty decent to the Bush twins, although, they did talk about their arrest that time.

So you think the media should harass young children? I don't see anything here to be upset about.

The Obama kids are very good students and don't get in trouble. If they were holding up liquor stores I'd suspect that the press would report that.

Sounds like false controversy.

Nope, just FOX NEWS extended...

Notice the reporter was from CNN, yet RealClearPolitics.com had to spin it?

I can't stand that ugly hag but she's talking about keeping their little spawn protected from the world, not politics in general. She's saying that they have help from the media in that they respect the children's privacy.

Who spun anything? Do you think the media left the Bush girls alone? Everything they did was magnified.

You know what's going to be really funny? If Rick Perry runs, and I hope he does, he's going to run on how well Texas is doing with the economy (jobs/business/taxes/etc.) during his 11 years as governor...and nobody in the Obama fanboy mainstream or pajama media will be able to refute it with "He inherited a good economy" because then it means they'll be complimenting the former governor of Texas, George W Bush. I LOVE IT!
