Right from your own link As to this class there have been doubts, but never as to the first. For the purposes of this case it is not necessary to solve these doubts.Id. at 167-168. Thus, the Court left open the issue of whether a person who is born within the United States of alien parents is considered a natural born citizen. n12
Why would you cite a 19th century case in response to a 21st century case?

Yes, they are natural born citizens. It is the same.
Right from the very same ruling Lord Chief Justice Cockburn . . . said: By the common law of England, every person born within the dominions of the crown, no matter whether of English or of foreign parents, and, in the latter case, whether the parents were settled, or merely temporarily sojourning, in the country, was an English subject, save only the children of foreign ambassadors (who were [*24] excepted because their fathers carried their own nationality with them),
Obama's father carried his own nationality with him, which allowed Obama to carry dual citizenship for a period of time.
Reading comprehension problem? Obama's father was a student, not an ambassador.

Ignoring that Phil Berg was a Clinton supporter. He was not the first to raise it. He was at least 6 months later. It was first raised on FreeRepublic by right-wingers.

It was answered by US v. Wong Kim Ark... more than a century ago.
McCain was a strange case. from 1905-1937 congress specifically considered children born in the PCZ "US nationals" and not "US citizens". McCain was born in 1936. i have no idea what the difference is between a "national" and a "citizen" but obviously it didn't matter to the 2008 congress.
Apparently, Joseph Farah and Jerome Corsi believe that a satirical article in Esquire cost them almost 4 million sales of Where's the Birth Certificate?: The Case that Barack Obama is not Eligible to be President. Is this another case of unscrupulous trial lawyers, or is $100 million a reasonable price to pay for making fun of the man's book?
The problem is the birthers had a serious issue, which was twisted into something ridiculous.
The birther movement, began because people believed that you need two parents born in the US to be "natural born", This was then hijacked by individuals who then started the ridiculous statements that Obama was born in other countries. The problem of course is that the question about what is "natural born" was never fully answered.
Wow. Did we just witness the birth of a new narrative?
"The Birthers were cool before they went mainstream."

Obama's father's citizenship was well known long before he was a candidate. It is a non-issue.
