Getting ridiculous. Ban bath salts and it will just come to another product replacing it. Stoners can and do get high on about anything. Have seen a few drink Pledge. Just what we need, more laws from the Govt to save ourselves from ourselves because we are apparently too stupid
They are banning chemical analogs for other illegal drugs. They are sold as "bath salts", "incense" and "potpurri", all of which are just euphemisms to keep them out of the clutches of the drug warriors.
The bans won't work because the chemists can easily produce new formulas that have been altered just enough to not be covered by the new law. The same thing has already happened with the faux weed "spice" several times. As soon as new laws are passed, the bath salts and incense will just be reformulated to make them legal to sell until the next law is passed.
The sad thing is that the legal products are much more dangerous when compared to the real illegal drugs they are designed to mimic. The real blame for the harmful effects of these drugs lies with the prohibitionists that fight tooth and nail any efforts at legalization or even harm reduction. It is the lunacy of our drug laws that forces people to smoke potentially dangerous spice instead of much safer marijuana.
I thought it was already ban maybe just in state of NC. I wasn't aware there is a difference since Bed Bath & Beyond had to pull some products.
My mom was concern she wouldn't be able to get her Epson Salt.
My thought when I heard this new craze is wouldn't it give you the runs but so does cocaine I guess that is a side effect people getting high can deal with. I hope they stock up on toilet paper.
Im with some posters above kids will find a new way to get high off items on shelves.
It is bad enough you have to show ID and clerk puts your info in computer for buying asthma medicine that was once OTC but now is stored in pharmacy.
The Four-Loko alcohol beverage pseudo-controversy drummed up by the drug warriors is in my opinion, by far, the most idiodic ban that's come down the pike in a while.
