THE DEBT CEILING IS ABOUT BORROWING TO PAY FOR THINGS THAT THE COUNTRY HAS ALREADY BOUGHT! ....
Do you really think there is anyone who doesn't understand this? Seriously, cut the elitist condescension already. We can pay, in the short term, our obligations with incoming revenue. Making serious cuts in spending (more than $4Trillion in less than 10 years) will allow us to continue paying those debts further out.

Much of the debt was just "created" and can be defaulted upon by the US not paying The FED. Why should we borrow money to pay ourselves back?

The credit rating will be lowered despite anything currently being put forward as CC&B was the only plan that would have averted that credit rating downgrade. The Democrat Senate led by Reid refused to allow a vote on it. Had they passed the bi-partisan bill from the House this would be a non-issue now. But no, Odrama needs distraction and division among the American sheeple. He can't have us paying attention to his 3 or more wars. He cannot have the media reporting that the White House knew about "Fast & Furious" and the corruption at the highest levels of our governmnet with his appointees to DOJ, IRS, ICE, DEA.

So, in light of that, Ron Paul's plan to default on The FED makes the best economic sense and allows the US plenty of room (nearly $3Trillion) for years to come without raising the debt ceiling and digging ourselves into a deeper hole.

The USA has defaulted 3 times in our history. Each time the government stole wealth from her citizens. Twice under Democrat POTUS (FDR & LBJ) and once under Republican (Nixon) when he removed the gold standard entirely.

That is the way I did it and it works for some but not all. The Dems and the spending problem are an example of this. They have to know that piling debt on top of debt just won't get you out of debt but they keep thinking it has to be done in order to buy votes.

If someone is a chronic masturbater, they shouldn't chop off both of their hands to solve their problem. That's essentially what the tea party is trying to do with ours. lol.

The Constitution is the law of the land and enumerates the limited-powers of the federal government quite clearly.

I suspect it is those who spend beyond their means who are irresponsible, not the folks who point out the irresponsibility. Do you blame the bank if you max out your credit cards and they refuse to raise your credit limit?

The liberals calling fiscally conservatives adults "terrorists" in this thread are nothing but trolls.
Your last sentence has too much truth in it since they are talking left leaning talking points and nothing else. They have to understand about the credit card thing you mentioned, but don't want to admit it because that would make all their crap just that.

This isn't like a private individual who runs out of money and can declare bankruptcy to wipe the slate clean. Defaulting on our loan means one of, if not the worst global economic disasters in human history.

The Tea Party is the American Taliban. They want to destroy the US and the Western world from the inside.
Why is so much worry being displayed about default? Why because people of the left have found it to be a very good thing to spook people with. Is default not stopping payments on your debt? We take in enough money every month to pay the SS checks, the military troops and even the interest on the debt. Now there will have to be some decisions made by our President as to what other bills would be paid.

One more time all that talk about default talk is about paying the debt and we have enough to pay the interest so default is nothing but a Democrat word used to scare all the people. I will say it is all PELOSI. To you that is BS.

Bohner has lost his poker face and is nearing a pure panic condition. All along his plan was to have the celing raised in the end, and he played the game to get what he wants, but now he is realizing that he cannot control the members of his party anymore and maybe can't get the raise. After all, his own pork eats borrowed money too.

He played with matches and now his sleeve is on fire and it is spreading fast.

Duh. It's pretty obvious that Obama and the Democrats want the debt ceiling to extend through 2012 so Obama will not have to face another "debt ceiling crisis" before the election.

Boehner proves that he is an establishment Progressive. The establishment has to villify the threat to their access to other people's money. The theater of Reid, Boehner and Obama at each other's throats but they can manage to unite against the fiscally conservative's of the Tea Party.

Can people really not see when the government is corrupt and backed into a corner with a light shining on them?

He needs to resign today and let a republican who will crush the tea party step in or they are done for. Unfortunately so is our country.
