Hmmm... let's see... the TEA Party WANTED to make the spending cuts S&P required to avoid the downgrade, but Obama promised a veto.

The actual facts reveal that it was NOT the TEA Party who caused the downgrade. The problem lies elsewhere.

???? The main reason the S&P stated for the downgrade was because there was no ending of the tax cuts on the rich, which the GOP and tea party refused to cut one penny from.

You still believe that it was the debt that caused the downgrade, when in reality it was how the debt was handled that caused us to be downgraded. I am sure a round 2 will be coming soon let see it the TP has learned anything, why do I have doubts.

if you want to claim that the TEa Party ruined the chances of IMPROVING the economy go ahead, but don't claim that the Tea PArty ruined it, because that ship sailed long ago!

Baloney. The downgrade was because Obama refused to cut spending and intended on borrowing more money to pay for programs that the people in the countries that are buying our debt don't even have for themselves.

It was a long road to get where we are today.

In 7 months the TEA Party, was able to stop the bus?

The TEA Party barely got on the brake pedal, after using all its strength just crawling from the back of the bus.

False.

The credit rating agency on Friday lowered the nation’s AAA rating for the first time since granting it in 1917. The move came less than a week after a gridlocked Congress finally agreed to spending cuts that would reduce the debt by more than $2 trillion — a tumultuous process that contributed to convulsions in financial markets. The promised cuts were not enough to satisfy S&P.

The drop in the rating by one notch to AA-plus was telegraphed as a possibility back in April. The three main credit agencies, which also include Moody’s Investor Service and Fitch, had warned during the budget fight that if Congress did not cut spending far enough, the country faced a downgrade.

If you are using your Visa to pay your Mastercard bill, is it the person who won't raise your credit limit that is the REAL problem?
