here is an idea, how about we just ban everything? ban gambling because people can sometimes gamble away everything they have. ban alcohol because some people get drunk and crash into a car full of nuns. ban all drugs because some people abuse them. ban cars because they hurt the environment. ban houses bigger than 800sq ft because some people get jealous of others with larger houses. in effect we should all have little grey apartments provided by the government, and work a boring government job, and eat boring food that some government official deems proper, etc.
I make far more money playing the racehorses than I ever did at a 9 to 5 job, and it's not taxed. I love playing dice, and when I win a substantial amount, I leave the casino and go to a movie, shopping, dine out, stick some in the bank. I don't HAVE to gamble, I GET to gamble. I'm retired, and do what I want these days.
I just dropped a hundred on the nags and another couple on the craps table. Stupid casino's.

Well, if you want just about every aspect of your life controlled by the govenrment, it's prefect. If your a person who believes in freedom, the answer is obvious.

i agree, people have to understand that with rights and freedoms come responsibilities. if they choose to exercise those rights and freedoms, they then have to accept the fact that there are consequences to their actions, whether they like it or not.
what the **** you guys? free will? so this is how the outside world is like? a cruel place for no love and family. You guys consider casino as a entertainment place? no its not why? its breaking up our family. parents never spending time with their kids. instead they use their time this mother ****ing place. im a 14 yr girl soon to be 15 in 5 more days and why am i typing this right now because my dad went to that casino again! if only you guys can understand. We human-being werent meant to be at casino. if you adult want to have fun spend time with your kids! if you go to casino your a horrible parent and role model! your children are growing up being just like you! my mother has try to stop him by killing herself what does he do? ignore. is it worth it? For everyone to suffercate while you have fun? So.. um... everyone should not be allowed to enjoy themselves at a casino if they choose because YOU have awful parents? I'm sorry your parents are awful, but guess what? My parents have been to the casinos when I was a kid. Guess what else? They did it when THEY had free time. They never spent all of our money. They did it to get out of the house for the night (parents DO deserve that) and maybe they can earn a few bucks.
So, again, things shouldn't be BANNED because SOME people can't control themselves.
The lottery takes from the poor, and redistibutes to the state. A casino takes from the poor, and redistributes to the wealthy.
Economicially, casinos only benefit the immediate locality (aside from whomever is counting the incoming money) such as Vegas, Shreveport, Atlantic City, or the Indian casino out in the country.
Non profits are a license to steal. Where do you think all that Susan G. Komen pink ribbon money is going?
