While watching an interesting program on ABC tonight on Jacqueline Kennedy(IMO one of our greatest first ladies) regarding audio tapes she made in 1964 an ad came on for Extreme Home Makeover.

I have never seen the show as those type of programs don't interest me.

If you don't know the show a crew led by an annoying guy with a megaphone show up in front of a house in need of repair and scream at the family to come on outside.

Kind of obnoxious.

Anyway tonight they ran an ad showing their bus pulling up in front of the White House yelling for Michelle...LOL.

I guess she is going to get on the bus and surprise a family with a house makeover.

Seems very tacky.

It is bad enough Obama has been the only sitting President to go on talk shows, now Mrs. Obama is going on a Reality TV show.

I think they're more interested in celebrity than in anything else.

Oh god, tell me there isn't a stripper pole involved on that bus.

The White House says Mrs. Obama will travel on Thursday to Fayetteville, N.C., where she will roll up her sleeves and help expand a community resource center for homeless female veterans located just outside the gates of Ft. Bragg.
The first lady’s participation is framed as part of the “Joining Forces” initiative she began with Dr. Jill Biden to provide support and recognition to military veterans and their families.

Michelle Obama to Appear on

Ty's bullhorn is quite annoying but this was a good cause and as First Lady being involved in building a boarding house for homeless female vets seems appropriate.

It is a good move, because all the other things her husband is doing is sinking the country.
Why not attempt to get some positive attention.

If I recall correctly, Laura Bush did the exact same thing by appearing on the show to rescue GWB's image after his "flyover" following Hurricane Katrina. Hmmm, I wonder just what could it possibly be about Michelle Obama that makes her a target of the overt scorn of the Right.

If she can be kept busy building houses, maybe she won't be messing with our food choices so much.

Why not? The Obamas have behaved like celebrities for some time now.

The dumbing down of America from the party of "intellectuals" (lol) continues.
