Yes.

Rules, regulations, traffic signs, tax bills, etc.; anything coming from a state or local government will be made more cost effective if it doesn't have to be printed in multiple languages.

This will save the government millions of dollars by not having to print documents in any language other than English. People who require translators will be required to pay for them out of pocket.

Even better. Don't produce any documents in any language. That'll save even more money since that is apparently the only thing to consider.

Why is this important to make English the official language?

Even with no official language, why is there a requirement that publications have to be made in Spanish or any other language other than English anyway though?

It is the right thing to do and yes I agree with the idea that no one forced the immigrant to come here. I am married to an immigrant and 1 of the requirements was that she be able to converse in english both written and oral.when she went for her drivers test we observed a hispanic man taking his test. He had a friend or family member sitting with him as interpreter. I asked If I could do the same for my Thai wife. I was told no that option was for spanish speakers only. WTF and yes that happened in PA.

Good on Scott. He's in my local area and I'm sure my state rep will endorse and.or vote for this bill. If you go to Votes PA, the website is in several languages it should only be English
