A third or more of all the honey consumed in the U.S. is likely to have been smuggled in from China and may be tainted with illegal antibiotics and heavy metals. A Food Safety News investigation has documented that millions of pounds of honey banned as unsafe in dozens of countries are being imported and sold here in record quantities.
Asian Honey, Banned in Europe, Is Flooding U.S. Grocery Shelves

I don't know what to say about this other than I am glad that I buy Certified Organic honey from local sources.

How much more until the USA wakes up and tells China to go **** themselves???? They are buying up our country lot by lot and no one but a handful of Congressional representatives are even willing to talk about the insane trade agreements that we have in place with mercenary China.

But it was so much cheaper!

How many substandard items, tainted food products, etc., do we have to allow injure and sicken USCs before our Government puts an end to this?

The coruption in our government is enabling this and as long as pockets are lined by lobbyists, this will never end.

Just let the free market take care of it. If people get sick or die from consuming it, then others will stop buying it!

/sarcasm

What exactly did you expect a thread titled "Tainted Asian Honey, Banned in Europe, Is Flooding U.S. Grocery Shelves" to be about?

I'm confused as to why anyone would by honey from outside of the USA. There is so much "local" honey and bee pollen to be found be it at the grocery or farmers market. Examples like this convince me that the FDA really cares nothing about food safety.

There is no reason why we need to import things from China that we make very well here and supply easily.

They have poisoned and killed our animals, our children with toys that have lead - apple juice tainted with arsenic!

CHECK THE LABELS CAREFULLY PEOPLE!

CHINA IS TRYING TO KILL US!

My guess is that almost all of the tainted honey is for sweetening processed foods.

Yes the title of the thread made me laugh.

I wondered where the pics were?
