Open borders - Would that really help this country become a better place? (illegal, radical)

A very stupid thing I witnessed earler today got me thinking about this.

In our small ciity, we have a town square that has an open fountain that children can run around in and get themselves silly wet- In other words, let them simply enjoy themselves.

The fountain has numerous holes in the ground from which water spouts out sporadically and gently for about 5 seconds. And there are plenty of them to allow all the children to run from one to the other and all enjoy themselves.

Today was a little different. There was an immigrant family (it's not important from where they came, nor if they were here llegally or illegally), and they were letting their children run around the fountain.

Except their 5 or 6 year old little girl did something different.

She was still in diapers. And she dirtied herself in the diaper.

So, she pulled it down, and started squatting down over the fountains to douche herself and the diaper clean.

This of course left quite a mess for the other children that use the fountains.

She was with her mother and another woman. They simply picked up her diaper and let her continue douching herself...right there in the public square.

I know..."She was just a child"...Or, "So what, it's perfectly accceptable in other countries" ....

But, it's not acceptable here - it's unsanitary. And as for her being a child..The 2 women with her were not children...Shouldn't they have stopped her, and got her to a bathroom or something?..You know, to teach her the sanitary norms here....(It was a fountain, not a river..Other children would be stepping on and slipping on her crap).

So, my point is - Perhaps screening people before they came into this country is not such a bad idea...We do want people that will help improve our country, so our country can help others.

At least we should screen for basic common sense...We want to move ahead, not backwards - Don't we?

That's the point of an effective immigration system. To screen out undesirable people. We don't have an effective immigration system. We have one where we let in way too many people, and the wrong kind. We put too much emphasize on family immigration, and that's how a lot of 3rd world uneducated people get to the U.S. Basically, our immigration laws are based more on who you are related to than what you know, unlike Canada.

Great way to spread e-coli! Unfortunately it is not only immigrant women who let their not yet potty trained children do this in public be it fountains or pools.
