Wait, we haven't had a Congressional vote to declare war have we? Didn't Obama we were not at war because there were no boots on the ground?

Panetta: 12 more U.S. troops sent to Libya

Note the liberal double speak by Pannetta about "sending ground troops against our policy" while he announces sending more ground troops.

It's not boots on the ground until an entire brigade is in there, or something like that. I dunno, hard to keep track of what the Obamatrons use as a gauge for war.

I had an argument with some 'pin-head' liberal on this forum back when this all started.

As former special forces myself, I have friends that are still serving.
There were 'boots on the ground' (our boots) from the very beginning!

Of course, the libs on this forum will deny it all .. Their posts and the story!

I guess bombing from the air and "12" on the ground don't count as an official "war".

Congress is just ignoring it..totally. Ignore it and it will go away ?

I would hope that it doesn't take that many troops to have boots on the ground but the way Panetta talks I guess 16 isn't enough. Now what happens if they get attacked and a much larger force has to be sent in to get them out? Oh yeah, it is a war now.

Obama said 'this will take days, not weeks'.
Last week we hear that 4 military people are at the Embassy, Now we hear there's an additional 12 military people. How long before there is 100, 200, 1000?

In that case, we're at war with every country where we have Marines at our embassies.

It is high time they stop ignoring this. The president and Congress have a duty to make certain our men and women in uniform are not placed in harm's way without them first going through the Constitutional process required.

There was a reason our founders did not enumerate the President with the power to go to war alone. They did not deem the President the powers of a King who could wage war at his every whim. It was their believe that this serious decision should be made in fact by the people through their representatives.

How do you figure?

The US has the permission of every country in which it has an embassy to establish one there. The immediate ground the US embassy sits upon is considered US soil. Therefore, the Marines guarding our embassies are standing/sleeping on US soil. An attack upon a US embassy is an attack upon our country.
