Aug. 16 (Bloomberg) -- A small South Carolina parts supplier collected about $20.5 million over six years from the Pentagon for fraudulent shipping costs, including $998,798 for sending two 19-cent washers to an Army base in Texas, U.S. officials said.

The company also billed and was paid $455,009 to ship three machine screws costing $1.31 each to Marines in Habbaniyah, Iraq, and $293,451 to ship an 89-cent split washer to Patrick Air Force Base in Cape Canaveral, Florida, Pentagon records show.

This kind of stuff kills me. How much were we paying for those toilet seats again? And what about the $750 Million we have to spend to now airship the heavier armor carriers to our troops, after waiting 3 years to wade through Pentagon bureaucracy to approve these things in the first place. Where is the fiscal conservative outrage? Where is the demand for an oversight committee review? People squawk all the time about the $300 pay check that the fat lazy guy across the street is picking up from the government. But with the Pentagon's gross mismanagement of funds into the Millions of dollars (maybe Billions? Who knows?) it's like...hey man, there is a war going on....cut them some slack.

Maybe we could scramble an F-16 to carpet bomb the plant that charged this amount, and the home of the person at the Pentagon who approved the expenditure.

As my Great-Uncle Ed used to say: That'll learn 'em!
