I Just watched a segment of Rachel Maddow and I was so disgusted I had to turn the T.V. off.

She was complaining about Republicans in the Senate not appointing Ford to ambassador to Syria, especially after all he has done there, and then contrasting that with Bush who removed his ambassador from Syria, and them complaining that Bushi was not using diplomacy, but Obama was and Senate Republicans were blocking him. This is rubbish. I am a liberal and this is complete Rubbish.

First the Democrats control the Senate not the Republicans. Second you are not using Diplomacy when you as the ambassador are attending rebel parades, and going to the funerals of rebels. This is not diplomacy. Bush probably was not using Diplomacy, but he may have been concerned about the ambassador's life, which Hillary does not seem to care about here. I am irritated because Maddow has put me in a position where I have to actually defend Bush.

I am no fan of Syria or its dictator, but don't try to feed me crap about the ambassador trying to use diplomacy. This is just the ambassador working and supporting the insurgents. Not a good thing for an ambassador to a country to be doing IMO.

In my opinon she is not different than Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity and hundreds of other ones. All they do is pick sides and then try to throw the other side under the bus without having an intellectually honest conversation on the facts.

It is really getting old.

I miss real journalism. Where has that gone?

Yes, it is the brainwashing of the United States. So much of what goes on in this country is determined by the information that the people receive via the media. I have felt that way for about four years now, it's sad. They can get on television and just turn things into a circus and basically heighten people's emotions while reducing their brain activity. I believe that they know what they are doing, know their power and are just trucking along swooping up as much money and power that they can. If you talk to people about politics on the street, in your daily life, they always reference to those who are on television. The people have never read a bill themselves, they've never picked up a newspaper to receive their information without sarcastic images or graphics and they've never read about history since 11th grade. Unless there is some severe movement to disrupt the irresponsible journalism then this will be the future of the United States. It is almost as though everyone will be able to be controlled by what they see and hear on television. If someone big decides to cause panic then they employ the media to do such and we all panic. If they want us to feel secure then they will employ the media to tell us that everything is OK and we will go back to spending.

Reporting has become a thing of the past. Now we get fast food news. Someone gets the news from a central news gathering company like Reuters and then they spin it and then feed it back to us so that we don't even need to think about it for ourselves. They have already thought about for us and drawn the conclusions from the facts for us, and then we just regurgitate those conculsions without ever having actually thought about it ourselves.

It's not MSM, it's not commentators, it's the American's who watch/read what they put out as fact never bothering to research or get familiar with the subject matter presented.

Once again the American attitude:

Take no responsibility - Blame someone else

How many people bother to research the opposing viewpoint?

Most people only get their news from news source and then it is actually not news at all but commentary. Hannity, Maddow, Limbaugh, Beck are not giving you the news, they are giving you commentary. They will tell you that they are not reporting news, but they are commentators, but yet people take it as the gospel.
