In many posts the Right Wingers accuse others of being 'marxist'.
But have they read any works by Marx? So, how would they know what 'marxism' is?

Lol, one doesn't need to read Mein Kampf to understand Nazi, nor does one need to read Das Kapital to understand communism.

I'm reminded of a line from the movie Tommy Boy: "I can get a hell of a good look at a T-Bone steak by sticking my head up a bull's _ss, but I'd rather take the butcher's word for it."

Perhaps not Mein Kempf, but it is extremely difficult to fully understand 1930's German Fascism without reading some textbooks.

Not Das Kapital, but the Communist Manifesto at the very least. Marxism is not a political philosophy that can be summed up on a bumpersticker. To claim so is an afront to philosophy. It's actually a very complex theory. Like most philosophers, the works of Marx can be very intimidating to read, so I understand peoples hestitance.

Ditto. I learned to hate Marxism as a Sociology major with a Marxist professor lauding its ideals. Really, the face of evil is easily recognized and I see that in the Progressive agenda here in the USA.

I don't have to move to New England to hate Bill Belecheat and the Patriots.

well said. i understand what marx wanted, and it can be summed up in a few words "equal outcomes for everybody". it is a political and economic system that does not work in the long term, because it does not encourage individual initiative.

So you are comparing a political and economic philosophical theory to an American football team? I'm surprised that people are actually owning up to not reading anything by Marx, yet claiming to be experts. Their honesty is actually refreshing, their pride in it is depressing however.
