In terms of civil liberties, Obama is every bit as bad as Bush. Maybe worse.

And there's no other electable candidate that will be any better.

It's like a bad remake of Star Wars. We have a never ending ambiguous "war on terror" where we all have to agree to suspend basic liberties for an indefinite period of time. Extra-judicial killings, warrant-less wire taps, the CIA in domestic affairs. I seriously doubt we'll ever see the day when someone declares the war over and our liberties restored.

The Republic is screwed.
