This rhetoric isn't helpful if you ask me.

Today the North wouldn't stand a chance. The South has a larger population, a younger population, stronger economy.

Without the South, where would all the Northerners move to?

The south having such a large industry as cotton made the north very jealous which was more important in starting the Civil War than slavery (yes I know I'll get flamed). I don't disagree though that the North had large industry and much of the capital.
Not really. The economic relationship between the north and south was more akin to that of England and the Raj than anything else. Cheap source of raw material shipped to northern factories then resold back to the south and across the pond. Plus slave labor kept northern wages low. The north more than anything else wanted to keep it that way; they fought against the south inflating their numbers in Congress because while they profited from their own little Mexico before Mexico was Mexico they sure as heck didn't want planter quasi-industrialists thinking they had an equal seat at the big boy table.

So the south already has began to rise again. Atlanta, raleigh, nashville, and charlotte are proof.
Talk about spin!! This made me so dizzy I almost puked all over my keyboard. Where's my Dramamine?!

People are just damn sick and tired of the ignorant here that try to run down the South at every opportunity. Most of them have no idea what in the world they are talking about and are not interested in doing anything but criticizing the South for something that happened over one hundred fifty years ago.

If the South rose again, it would be tempting for the North to beat them into submission just because it could, but I think it would be best to let the traitors be this time. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
