But does it make that much of a difference? This whole thread could be re-branded as "sometimes when you drive through the ghetto, bad **** happens." I wouldn't even call these attacks flash mobs, which are pre-planned and usually lead to more than a smashed window and "disturbed dust."
Peoria has long had a strange problem of school kids walking in the street, it got so bad outside of Manual H.S. that the police started patrolling and issuing tickets to these kids. Sounds like the Meals on Wheels driver caught these kids after school.
The woman Saturday night that got her window smashed, how is this somehow newsworthy? Really, neither story is newsworthy unless someones intent is to make it a racial incident. This stuff, however, happens every day in neighborhoods like this, and worse. So far Peoria has had 13 homicides and all were black on black crime. The only white person murdered was murdered by another white.
With all the crime in this country I cannot believe this is considered news.

Its apparent the OP doesn't know what a Flash mob is seeing as this sentence in the story proves that it wasn't a FLASH mob

Definition of a Flash mob requires ORGANIZATION through SOCIAL MEDIA and other e-communication efforts, and often takes days, even weeks of planning to pull off.
The OP is being disingenuous by claiming this was a flash mob, when the ARTICLE itself said it was only a mob of teens and "flash mob" appears no where in the article.
Its just stupid teens being stupid. Hope they catch those who caused any harm or did the harassment.
In the case of the young woman whose car was surrounded, she should have just hit the gas and run them over.
Maybe injuring or killing a couple of them will get the message across.
IDK why the van driver didn't do the same. He was being harassed and he still tried to make the delivery. He shouldn't have gotten out of the van.
You call 911 after you hit a few of them and say "I was being attacked by a mob and had to hit the gas to get out of it, I'm on my way to the police station as we speak, you might want to send an amublance. It is unsafe for me to stay in the area."
I have done something close. A group of teens were standing in the street and I slowed down. They were not moving and 2 were approaching the my car, I yelled " I'm coming thru " stepped on the gas ran over a bike as one of them jumped out of the way. That's the way you do it.
Yeah right. Lets be honest. There would just be a bunch of threads made by apologists for the white mobs. Think about it. Over this summer, there was ONE thread about the murder of a black man at hands of a mob of white kids in P&OC. In that thread you couldn't get past the first page without someone mentioning black "flash mobs" even though it had nothing to do with the thread. Now on the other end, there have been countless threads this summer about the "rising trend of black flash mobs that threaten to overtake the country and devirginize young supple white girls". Sigh. Really? You guys even tried to link these incidents to President Obama like he was conspiring against the masses of the the US to cause a racial uprising with which he could institute martial law and remain Fuhrer in Chief till the end of times. WTF. You guys can't be serious. Yes, because isolated incidents that occurred over the summer are completely indicative of what the rest of us black folk are fittin' to do because we don't get a bigger gubment check. Hell, half you guys even made a poor attempt at making a reference to the "silent majority" (snicker) and how they are not gonna take it anymore soon and everything is gonna change with a show of force. I think no other city had more of a problem with with flash mobs than here in Philadelphia ... we had a string of about a half dozen of them until there was a major crackdown on them as the summer began. The very first one was right in West Philly where I live.
Not all of the kids were black. There were also some Hispanics, and even a few white kids were involved. One lady, a passerby, who was shoved was a black lady.
These are not race riots.
These flash mobs are juvenile mischief. It is criminal and unacceptable behavior ... and it needs to be dealt with severely.

This! I'm white, and I can tell you this. I don't care WHAT color someone is, if you ACT like a POS thug and terrorize others you are the lowest of low, and I will treat you as such! IT'S THAT F***N' SIMPLE PEOPLE! I make no distinctions! Were it a group of white people doing it a black person I would feel the exact same way! Regardless, black, white, purple, if you attack me, I will defend myself! And it's a good bet that REGARDLESS of color of the group that once I got out of the hospital, myself and a couple of others would go looking for the group and take care of business! Can't it just be seen as such without all of the racism and bigotry??? And I'm talking about both sides! Why stoop to the level of these bigoted punks? In 2011 shouldn't we all be better than that?
I read the article. A smashed window...whoopdeedoo. It's going to take just a little bit more than that for a couple minor incidents in Peoria to turn into a NATIONAL news story. Last I checked, the entire country hasn't had any slow news days recently.
