So strange to see the Occupiers behave exactly the way the mainstream media hoped the Tea Party would behave, yet their rowdy, deplorable behavior is hardly reported on.

Shootings way up in two weeks
Bullets are flying over Broadway -- and everywhere else in the city.

The number of people shot surged 154 percent two weeks ago -- to 56 from 22 over the same week last year -- and spiked 28 percent in the last month.

Last week tallied another increase in victims -- 22 people had been hit through Friday, including the three victims gunned down outside a Brooklyn school Friday.

Last year, only 17 shooting victims were logged for the entire week.

Four high-ranking cops point the finger at Occupy Wall Street protesters, saying their rallies pull special crime-fighting units away from the hot zones where they’re needed.

"Another NYPD boss is troubled by the resulting slowdown in stop-and-frisks."

Oh boo-hoo-hoo. They don't have as many cops to detain random people on the streets and conduct unconstitutional searches.

A price to pay for 1st amendment rights. Unless you want to ban protesting because it pulls cops away from other duties.

Right wing "conservatives" want US citizens not protest because it raises the overall crime level....LOL

Just do what your government tells you and nobody gets hurt.

They sure are for "small" government aren't they? ........siding with authority and government yet again.

Jeez, that is horrible.

Maybe the chief should send the cops back to the hot zones, where real thugs are shooting children, etc.

All you need is one strong-willed policeman to take care of the OWS people.

Sorta like the old story about the old Texas Ranger, back in the old days:

A riot had broken out. Townspeople run to the Texas Ranger, and implore his help. The Ranger calmly picked up and put on his Stetson, and started heading out the door.

"Wait" the townspeople cried, "Are you going by yourself?"

"Why not", said the Ranger, looking back at them, 'There's just one riot".

Hence the slogan "One Riot, One Ranger" rose up.

(note: I believe the Ranger was torn limb from limb by the mob, but that it not relevant to the moral of the story).

Your article does not say that the protestors did the shooting, so why do you imply that they did? It says they took place because cops pulled out their troops from the hot-zones.
